Review of 'The Celeb Next Door'

Title: The Celeb Next Door
Author: Hilary Freeman
Series: Camden Town Tales

Blurb:

Rosie has lived in Paradise Avenue, Camden Town all her life. As well as the market to hang out at and gigs to go to, there are celebrities to spot, and TV studios where she and her best friends Sky and Vix might get noticed.

When Rosie finds out that the drummer from a chart-topping group is moving into the house next door, she makes it her mission to befriend him. But things don't turn out quite the way she expects...

My Review:

Seen as I read a couple of other books my Hilary Freeman and saw this in the library as another book in the 'Camden Town Tales' I thought 'YES - I will read that!' It's fast paced and the perfect summer book for any teenager! It's full of romance, friendship and a sprinkle of celebs!

Every character in the story is realistic and you can believe that they are real, they face the same problems as any typical teenager, so it wasn't hard to believe the characters. The story is a bit out of reach but Camden is like that so it's not totally out of this world.

Max is sooo sweet, I found myself falling in love with him, if Rosie doesn't him then I'll have him! He was so considerate and always thought about Rosie - I wish the boys nowadays were like him!

Rosie faces any problem that any normal person would face at least once in their life, but I felt like I wanted a better ending for Max, for him to go with Vix because she likes him and Rosie was trying to set them up.

I feel that this book was written better than the first book but both books are enjoyable and worth a read, they're nice summer reads!

Review of ' Shades of Magenta'

Title: Shades of Magenta
Author: Echo Freer

Blurb:
Holiday time and the heat is on for Magenta Orange. But she's keeping her cool... Magenta can't hide her disappointment: her dream destination turns out to be a holiday camp in the middle of nowhere. But she's looking forward to topping up her tan and starring in the talent contest... not to mention a bit of holiday romance. Soon Magenta's back on form, with parachuting pandemonium and disaster on the diving board...
Will gorgeous Daniel be able to stop her from getting into deep water?

My Review:
I really enjoyed this book and it's told from three people's perspective - Daniel, Magenta and Justine. Magenta is the main character and is 13 - Daniel is her boyfriend. Justine is Magenta's cousin and also likes Daniel as well. They all go on holiday together and Justine attempts to break Daniel and Magenta up. At the swimming pool Magenta meets a creep called Liam who follows her around because of an incident. It has a nice ending.

The only thing is that alot of the book is on love and relationships. Daniel is constantly in his mind saying that he loves Magenta and wants to spend the rest of his life with her, but, they are only 13 so it's quite deep. I think the author should've made them 15, 14, then it wouldn't be as bad.

Overall, a really good book!

Review Of ' Coping With Chloe'

Title: Coping With Chloe
Author: Rosalie Warren

Blurb:
Anna and Chloe are twins. They share everything - from secrets to clothes, from fending off the school bully to dealing with their parents' separation. Even Chloe's terrible accident hasn't split them apart. After all, wins have a special bond, right?

But Anna is beginning to realise that being inseparable isn't always easy. Especially when no one else seems to understand that Chloe hasn't really gone. No one apart from the good-looking new boy that is, who inconveniently seems to like both sisters...

My Review:
This was a review book from the author - Rosalie Warren. This book tells the tale of Anna and her twin sister Chloe who is living in Anna's body due to a terrible accident. Nobody can accept that Chloe's gone into Anna except the new boy Joe ( who just happens to be gorgeous)! The family dog would only do tricks for Chloe put when he does one, everyone just thinks that he's now listening to Anna instead. There is no way to prove that Chloe hasn't gone, she is still here.

After a while, Chloe starts to get frustrated about not having her own body and after a fight she gets away from Anna. As Anna goes for a wonder through the park Chloe confronts her. At this scene I was hooked, I really wanted to know - what will happen next? Will Chloe forgive Anna?

However, the book does have a happy ending, the girls forgive and Anna lets go. They both feel that it's the right time.

This book is just a great read! A mixture of romance and mystery - a must read book!
