Review of Seriously Sassy, Crazy Days

Title: Seriously Sassy, Crazy Days
Author: Maggi Gibson
Series: Seriously Sassy book 3

Blurb:

"I'm gonna use my fame and money to make the world a better place ... OK?"

Life is seriously good for Sassy Wilde - she's had her first kiss, she has her two bestest bezzies ever and her rock-chick dreams are on the verge of coming true.

But just as everything's set to take off, her new boyfriend starts acting weird - and then the record company turns Sassy's world upside down!

Sassy feels like giving it all up - until a real disaster strikes. Now's not the time for Sassy to pack away her guitar, cos her talents are needed more than ever...

My Review:

Following the events that happened in book 2, Sassy finds out that Y - Gen music tried all they could to get Sassy a record deal but other companies are saying no because of what Sassy did. She vows that she will never sing again.

Then Taslima, her friend, has to go to Pakistan following an earthquake where her family may have been hit.

Seen as Sassy is a member of the eco club, they think that they should raise money. They try lots of things but all decide that to raise lots of money they need Sassy to sing - but she said that she won't ever again. Will she sing again to help her friend and other people who also need help.

It's a great book! I'm so glad Maggi let me review the books! Fab book! Downside - the series has ended! If you've never heard of this series, well you need to BUY IT NOW!!

Review of Seriously Sassy: Pinch Me I'm Dreaming

Title: Seriously Sassy, Pinch Me I'm Dreaming
Author: Maggi Gibson
Series: Seriously Sassy, Book 2

Blurb:

"I sing cos I care about things. I'm not gonna change just to be famous!"

Sassy Wilde has plenty to say about life, love and... lemurs. She's a rock chick with eco attitude, but for Sassy it's not all about fame.

There's Twig, the boy who makes her feel squidgy inside. And Cordelia and Tas, her bestest mates. But as the Wiccaman festival beckons and Sassy's dreams start to come true, will she have to leave them behind?

Suddenly, Sassy's in a whirl of bezzies and boys. It's not just her guitar strings that are twanging - it's her heart strings to...

My Review:

This is the second book in the Seriously Sassy series and it didn't dissapoint! It follows on from the first book nicely with the protest Sassy staged in book 1. She discovers that someone has filmed her singing and has put her on the internet - but who?

However, a record company get in touch with her and ask if she's willing to make a demo CD, there's no hesitation and Sassy immediately says YES!  They record some tracks and as a challenge Y - Gen say that they want Sassy to perform at the Wiccaman festival to see what she's like performing. Sassy, Tas, Cordelia, Megan, Pip and her mum all go for a few days and make a holiday out of it. In the time that they stay Sassy meets THE Pheonix Macloid - the HOTTEST celeb ever and he likes her! But, Sassy has Twig as her boyfriend already. As Sassy is an eco warrior her songs all have something to do with the planet. Y - Gen say she can't sing one song but when the moment comes Sassy does something unbelievable and has she blown her chances of being a star, all because she cares about the world?

It's a great book! It's turning out to be one of my favourite series'! Can't wait for book 3 ----> Seriously Sassy: Crazy Days!

Review Of Seriously Sassy

Title: Seriously Sassy
Author: Maggi Gibson
Series: Seriously Sassy Series Book 1

Blurb:
"Right now boys are NOT part of my life plan. I've got more than enough to do as it is." "Yeah like the planet to save," Cordelia says dreamily. "And my singing career to get off the ground. I've not even got my first demo disc yet!"

Sassy Wilde's had enough of pollution and plastic bags - she wants to make a difference. It's time to grab her guitar and start spreading some eco love...

But first she has to get around her mum and dad - officially the most embarrassing parentals In. The. World.

And it's not just endangered creatures keeping Sassy awake at night. Why, oh why did Magnus (the Magnificent) offer her a bite of his muffin in biology?

My Review:
First of all this book is GREAT! I loved it! Sassy is so cool and a great character, I liked how she wasn't perfect and that she cared so much about the environment and was very strong for a 13 year old. Sassy isn't afraid to stand up for what she believes in even if this means that she will get into trouble (which she does)!

I loved how Sassy dreamt of being a star and I loved the songs that were scattered all the way through the book, the songs also seemed to represent how Sassy was feeling so if she was angry the song would be about how angry she was, if she was happy it would show in the song, but adding this to the book really helped to make it more personal.

A quick summary is Sassy's dad is standing for the local election and Sassy needs to be the perfect daughter for him, they strike a deal - if she's good, she gets a demo, if not then she doesn't.

Sassy has to think about what she wants more - to save the planet or get a demo? Stand for what she believes in or sit tight and wait?

A must have, must read! Great book! Can't wait to read the next two books in the series!

Review of Mates, Dates and Great Escapes

Title: Mates, Dates and Great Escapes
Author: Cathy Hopkins
Series: Mates, Dates

Blurb:
A school trip to Florence seems like the perfect escape for Lucy. She wants time away from Tony who is pressurising her to take their relationship further. In Italy she meets an American boy, who is also visiting Tuscany, and she thinks he might be the ideal way to get over Tony. He seems to be the perfect gentlemen, and Italy introduces Lucy to a world of culture and sophistication.

Will she be able to move on from Tony? Or is it a case of out of the frying pan and into the fire?

My Review:

This is book nine in the Mates and Dates which I love!!! It's all about 4 best friends - Lucy, Nesta, TJ and Izzie - who are mates that have dates, hence the title of the series Mates, Dates.

Lucy and Tony have been going out for a while but as Tony is 4 years older wants to take their relationship further (if you know what I mean), he's pressurising Lucy and she doesn't know what to do. A school trip to Florence seems like the perfect break but Lucy's family don't have the money, until Lucy's older brother, Lal, has to see Mrs Finkelstein's solicitor, he thinks he's done something wrong but he hasn't! I'm not going to give away what it is but it results in Lucy being able to go to Florence after all - which she's thrilled about!

Lucy, Nesta, TJ and Izzie have a lot of good adventures which I'm not going to reveal. Lucy meets Teddy who's really sweet and they have a little holiday romance. Not going to reveal anything else, if you like the sound of this book then give it a try!

Fab book! Love the series! Only thing is you might wanna start at the first book in the series as different things over lap in the books, but the series is a DEFINITE holiday must read!
