Review of A Reckless Magick

Title: A Reckless Magick

Author: Stephanie Burgis

Blurb:

Kat's back for her third adventure and as usual, social disaster is following in her wake...

When the Stephenson family travel to a grand country house in Devon for her sister Angeline's wedding, Kat is stalked by a dangerous magical enemy and finds everything she thought she knew about her late mother called into question.

With smugglers, sabotage, tangled romance and plenty of magical activity at work, it's down to Kat to protect her family and her country from impending ruin.

My Review

I was sent third book to review and wow - it didn't disappoint! It's the third book in its series and I haven't read any of the others in the series - I could follow the story easily so it didn't matter.

The book is set in the regency era. The main character is 13 year old Kat. I liked her, she wasn't perfect, she was entertaining and likable. Kat is also a guardian for the Order. Her older sister - Angeline - is engaged and their family is travelling to Devon to see Angeline's fiancee (Frederick) and all of his family.

As their travelling up Kat's carriage is hijacked. As someone is travelling past they stop to help. She's called the marquise and as Kat gets to know her she questions who she really is...

There's lots of other twists and turns which I won't explain as I might give some of the story away. It's full of sizzling magic, fantasy and full of intrigue.

Great book, written well and I REALLY enjoyed it! Gripping, definitely a book to add to your must read list!
