Title: Emerald Star
Author: Jacqueline Wilson
Series: Hetty Feather (number 3)

Since leaving the Foundling Hospital, Hetty has seen her fair share of drama, excitement, tragedy and loss. After the death of her beloved mama, she sets off to find a real home at last - starting with the search for her father.

My Review:

This book is the last in the Hetty Feather series - which I loved! Jacqueline Wilson is definitely one of my favourite authors, she's just great when I want a nice, easy read. I love how her writing just takes you into the story and I think that the Hetty Feather series is my favourite of hers. I'm constantly re-reading them!

Anyway, the story starts off with a bit of background. Hetty's birth mother has died :( so Hetty decides to try and find her birth father, which she manages. However, her father's wife, Katherine, doesn't believe Hetty and decides that she needs proof. Hetty then writes to her old governess - Miss Smith - enquiring what her mother's real name was. When Miss Smith writes back to give proof of her mother's identity, letters from Jem are also there. Hetty then discovers that her foster father is dead and that her foster mother is ill. She decides to leave her birth father to see Jem.

When she arrives Jem welcomes her with open arms, however, her foster sisters aren't so welcoming.

Hetty stays there for several months but when the circus arrives everything changes...

Overall, I think that this book was a fantastic end to a fantastic series! It still leaves questions unanswered so you are left to create your own ending for Hetty which I liked. I'd really recommend this series and think it's a nice, sweet book.
