Review of Girl Online

Title: Girl Online
Author: Zoe Sugg and Siobhan Curham
Blurb:
Penny has a secret.

Under the alias Girl Online, she blogs about school dramas, boys, her mad, whirlwind family - and the panic attacks she's suffered from lately. When things go from bad to worse, her family whisks her away to New York, where she meets the gorgeous, guitar-strumming Noah. Suddenly Penny is falling in love - and capturing every moment of it on her blog.

But Noah has a secret too. One that threatens to ruin Penny's cover - and her closest friendship - forever.

My Review:

I've got to admit, I am a fan of Zoe's and when I heard that she was releasing a book, I was excited. I knew it wasn't going to be the best, most well written book in the world, but, I also didn't think it was going to be ghost-written.

The story follows Penny, a 15 year old walking disaster area. She's clumsy, unpopular and shy. She manages to battle her way through life by writing a blog under the name Girl Online. It's basically a diary, only everybody can see it. Using that and her best friend Elliot she manages to stay sane. Until one day, her supposed friend puts a video online for the whole school to mock her. Penny believes her life cannot get any worse.

However, by some miracle her run ragged, wedding planner parents get the offer to organise a huge wedding in New York just before Christmas. It is exactly what Penny needs, so her, her parents and best friend Elliot head off to New York.

Whilst there, Penny meets Noah Flynn. Very quickly, they end up falling head over heels in love; they're soulmates Penny believes. Until one lie ruins their fairytale...

I have to admit, I did really enjoy this book. It was definitely not complicated or a plot that had many twists and turns. It was quite predictable and had various moments of cliche, but saying all that, I read it in just over a day and was very intrigued by the story. I would recommend it, but don't expect an amazing story. It's quite a basic read, but an enjoyable one. I really did like this more than I expected to.
